Fireballs Defeats Thunderbirds in High-Scoring Game, 9-6
Bats were blistered as Fireballs defeated Thunderbirds 9-6 on Tuesday.
Fireballs opened up scoring in the first inning, when Aly Robinson was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
Thunderbirds scored three runs in the fifth inning. Thunderbirds’s big inning was driven by a triple by Yael Galpert, an error on a ball put in play by Einav Katz, and a double by Alisa Stuchevski.
Robinson took the win for Fireballs. The righty lasted four innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out one. Shira Lloyd threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Adi Baran took the loss for Thunderbirds. The righthander went one inning, allowing five runs on zero hits and striking out two.
Robinson, Rhonda Lloyd, and Lloyd all had one hit to lead Fireballs.
Thunderbirds racked up eight hits in the game. Stuchevski, Katz, and Baran each collected multiple hits for Thunderbirds.
