Sox Runs Away With Early Lead in Victory
Vets watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 22-7 loss to Sox on Wednesday. Sox scored on a passed ball during Noam Markose’s at bat, a single by Ben Rosenberg, a double by Tzvi Harow, a single by Ariel Gilor, a double by Akiva Schwartz, a triple by Naftali Schwartz, and a single by Markose in the first inning.
Vets collected four hits and Sox had 14 in the high-scoring affair.
Sox got things started in the first inning when Markose reached on a dropped third strike.
Vets put up four runs in the second inning. Vets’s offense in the inning came from singles by Inbar Reemy and Gefen Osishkin and a walk by Avinoam Sachs.
Yuval Barak earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Sox. The fireballer surrendered seven runs on four hits over four innings, striking out six. Elan Zashin threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Zashin recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Sox.
Osishkin took the loss for Vets. Osishkin surrendered 18 runs on nine hits over three and a third innings, striking out three.
Reemy, Robert Even, Judah Rosenthal, and Osishkin each collected one hit to lead Vets.
Sox totaled 14 hits in the game. Harow, Schwartz, Rosenberg, and Markose all had multiple hits for Sox. Harow led Sox with three hits in five at bats. Sox was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Markose had the most chances in the field with eight.
