We’ve all played softball in the past – in school, synagogue leagues, corporate leagues, even on Sundays with our friends and family. Now that we live in Israel, we don’t need to give up on this sport we used to play in the “old country”. Yes, there is softball in Israel – another good reason to make Aliyah.
The Israel Softball Association (ISA) organizes softball games for all ages and disciplines – for men, women, boys, and girls. Both of our men’s and women’s leagues play Fastpitch softball with competitive games almost all year round. There are boys leagues (Under 19) in different parts of the country such as Dimona, Misgav, Gezer , Maor , and Arad. After School Programs (Chugim) for junior girls (ages 12 to 19) are organized all around the country including Beit Shemesh, Hashmonaim, Misgav and Maor. The junior girls from the different cities compete in actual games in the junior girl’s league.
The ISA hosts national tournaments for the junior boys and the junior girls leagues.
In addition to the national and youth leagues in Israel, the Israel Softball Association sends national teams to represent Israel in international softball tournaments. We have grown and National Teams from Women, Men, Junior Men and junior Women represent the flag at these European Tournaments.
